Visitor centres in the Glencoe area

The Glencoe and Kinlochleven area has a small selection of visitor centres where you can find out about local history, or learn about something specific. In Ballachullich the slate quarry story is intestesting as the slate from this quarry was used all over the UK. In Glencoe village, the Glencoe Folk Museum has lots of interesting stories to tell... and in Kinlochleven, The Ice Factor provides excellent indoor climbing walls for enthusiasts. Kinlochleven also has a heritage museum which tells the history of the British Aluminium Co and the smelter which was built here in the 1920s. Kinlochleven also has its own brewery where the famous Atlas Latitude and Three Sisters cask ales are brewed. The brewery is open for tours subject to arrangements.
